LITTLE PHIL AND THE NIGHT SHADOWS
"Much has changed in the world of rock since THE NIGHT SHADOWS were escorted by the sheriff of a Bible belt community to the county line and told neer to come back.
It was late 1950's and the band had recently started using an organ. Town elders had told the sheriff we were 'using a sacred church instrument to play that evil rock & roll' at a high school Christmas dance.
The holy rollers of the town assumed we were all devils, especially with a name like THE NIGHT SHADOWS.
Now organs are paase in bands and most churches look like you could produce a rock concert with all the instruments there.
What hasn't changed since those pioneering days however, is the creativity of indie artists that don't follow the rules.
This compilation of songs and performances is a case in point during the band's heyday in the mid-1960's.
LITTLE PHIL & THE NIGHT SHADOWS amalgamated Blues and R&B influences into their Rock tunes and vice versa at a time when this was uncommon.
We didn't follow the rules, but it gave the group it's signature sound, an integral part of any band's legacy. Hearing this reproduced on vinyl will take you back to that period."
