FUTURE PRIMITIVES
While working on this exclusive edition of 'Songs We Taught Ourselves', Casbah and Dangerhouse Skylab suggested to The Future Primitives that they try a different cover artwork. The answer was clear. No man, we want to keep the DIY and the reference to the child-like aspect of the first album discoveries.
And indeed, here is what The Future Primitives have to offer with this album, that until now was only available on bandcamp: a tribute to these early years, as the obscure tracks of Captain Beefheart, The Mummies, Link Wray, The Haunted, The Milkshakes slapped them in the face.
Something obvious, faithful. On 'Songs We Taught Ourselves', the trio from Cape Town shouts loud and clear their fascination for the music that comes from the guts, with a staggering easiness. 'Songs We Taught Ourselves' carves the Future Primitives' touch, and shoots at point blank range the fury that some unknown heros have been willing to inflict to their decades contemporaries.

Shortly after the end of the world, The Future Primitives recorded several songs that made life worth living in the first place. These tracks were carefully selected from the archives and slammed hard to tape.
